Polar Bears: Endangered Species!

     The polar bear is a beautiful and magnificant animal - soon to be nothing more than a memory! Estimates put its numbers between 20,000 and 25,000 left in the world. There is some argument as to whether it is a vulnerable species or an endangered species. The controversy arises from various counts over the years and that while some sub species are in decline, other polar bear sub-populations have been suggested to be on the rise. Keeping accurate data is difficult. Regardless of the designation, several factors are threatening the polar bear population. Evidence indicates that these threatening factors are on the rise suggesting that if left unchecked, the status of the polar bear will be adversely affected.
